George married Eady Anna Frankin on September 1, 1887 in Bethany Junction, Decatur, Iowa.
Father of Floyd E. Parker, Roy Parker, Hershel "Billy" Parker, and Florence Velva Parker.
George was a Blacksmith by trade.


George L. Parker

George L. Parker, a resident of the Grandview community for the past six years, passed away early Sunday evening, Sept 26 following an extended illness. Mr Parker was 87 years of age and a native of Rock Bluff, Neb. For many years he had lived near Sioux City, Iowa, where he followed heavy construction as a blacksmith. Since coming to Grandview he made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker of Route One, Old Sunnyside Highway.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Ottawa, Iowa. George L. Parker was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs Anna Parker, Jan 14 1921.
He is survived by two sons, Roy Parker of Grandview, Herschall Parker of Grandview, two sisters, Mrs Erwin Knowles, Benton City, Mrs William Smith of Pacific Junction, Iowa. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Mr Parker was preceded in death by one son, Floyd Parker, of Grandview and one daughter, Mrs Velva Grant of Seattle.
Funeral services for George Parker were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept 29 at the Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home with the Elder William Clements of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Sacred selections "Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Land Where We'll Never Grow Old" were sung by Delmar Schoefflin and LeRoy Klein accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Christine Dow. Casket bearers were Virgil Holly, I.A. Lyons, D.C. Golladay, Dean Henry, Perry Reid and Tom Ehart.
