Frank Anderson, son of the late Albert and Mattie (Hawthorne) Anderson, was born March 29, 1925 in Due West, South Carolina. He joined Mt. Zion A.M. E. Church at an early age. Frank graduated from Mathis Academy High School in Due West, South Carolina. He was an example of kindness and hard work as he ran his parent's farm and displayed his culinary skills as a cook at Erskine College. He later moved to Michigan where he worked as a cook for the state of Michigan. He took special pride in helping to rear his nieces and nephews. He married the love of his life Carrie (Butts) Anderson in 1967. He went into auto body collision, then owned and operated an auto collision shop while working at Ford Motor Company. After 25 years he retired from Ford Rouge Steel in 1987.

Frank enjoyed several hobbies, including boating, fishing, cooking and gardening, and whatever he caught, grew or cooked he would share with friends and neighbors. He was a loyal Detroit Pistons, Tigers and Lions fan. Frank was a straight shooter, a man of his word with a heart as wide as an ocean. He was honored with a plaque for volunteering hundreds of hours to senior citizens at the Northwest Activity Center, by the City of Detroit Recreation Department. He was a mentor to scores of young men and women alike. On June 30, 2013 he answered God's immediate call.
