Harold Elliott Alford, 76, died April 17 at home under Savannah Hospice care. He was a native of Bryan County and retired from the Air Force with 20 years of service. He also retired from civil service at Fort Stewart, where he was a truck driver. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 164 and Pembroke Advent Christian Church.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Laverne Bradley Alford of Pembroke; daughters, Debra A. Taylor and Nancy A. Gill, both of Savannah; sisters, Pearl A. Lanier of Statesboro, Jessie A. DeLoach of Claxton, Lora A. Hinely of Pooler, Julia A. Thompson of Bloomingdale, Juanita A. Freeman of Georgetown, S.C. and Margie A. Clifton and Lois A. Harper, both of Byron; brothers, Homer Alford of Cochran, Oscar Alford of Warner Robins and Alphice Alford of Naknek, Alaska; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
SERVICE: 3 p.m. Thursday at McLamb-Morrison Funeral Home, burial in Northside City Cemetery in Pembroke.
