Death: Sep. 9, 1982

Bruce DeWyke was born on the farm and lived there until construction of the Tuttle Creek Dam in 1959. Construction of the Tuttle Creek Dan destroyed Randolph and several other towns along the valley of the Big Blue River.

He was a piano player with a special knack to play by ear. He played in churches, clubs and for groups. He played until his death despite stiff fingers, crippled by arthritis and partly from injuries and bruises he received playing as first baseman on the famous Blue Valley Baseball team. From August 1917 to 11 Nov 1919 he was a Kansas State Guard.

He married Lillian Vogelsang 10 July 1916 in Randolph, Kansas. They had three children, Earl Vernell b. 18 June 1928, Ruth Elaine b. 1 Feb 1922, and Cecil Bruce b. 16 Dec 1919, all of Randolph.
