The son of Lewis Feuilleteau Wilson Andrews and Jane Andrews was a printer. He moved from New York to Georgia in the 1840s. Lewis' first wife was Alice Baynham Royston of Caroline County, Virginia. They married in 1867. Alice died in 1874. His second wife was Ann Winston Butler of Richmond, where they lived. They married in 1877. He joined the Confederate Army on July 14th, 1861 and was at Appomattox for the surrender. He served with the 8th Georgia Infantry as Sergeant Major.
