WOLFFORTH - Georgetta "Jetta" Jackson, 58, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at her residence. Born Dec. 16, 1948, in Lubbock to Henry Lewis and Georganna (Spencer) Wynne, she attended Frenship High School and South Plains College. After college, she worked for General Steel Warehouse and was self-employed. On Sept. 16, 1965, she married Andy at Parkway Church of Christ in Lubbock. She was a member of the VFW and the VFW "Cootie" Auxiliary. Georgetta also coached little league baseball, youth basketball and youth football. She was a former member of Frenship Athletic Booster Club, former president of Wolfforth Little League Baseball League, member of the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, movies, horse races and attending sporting events. She had a deep love of her family and especially her grandchildren.
Georgetta is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard and his wife Aimee of Amherst, Texas, and Randy and his wife Rachel Jackson of Plainview; two sisters, Anna Ream of Bedford, Texas, and Ida and her husband Cecil Moncrief; one brother, Calvin Wynne; five grandchildren, Brandon, Nate, Seattle, Fetti and Katie Jackson; as well as lots of adoring and loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, officiated by Mike Butts. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are with Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mrs. Jackson's name to the Children's Miracle Network at University Medical Center, P.O. Box 5980, Lubbock, TX 79408, or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
