"You are Remembered"
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother." Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

To Family and friends, of Eugene Daly Jr.,: I recently visited, my father's grave and as always, felt the pride of reviewing his military marker, which distinguished his service, in the Korean War. I then, took a stroll around the cemetary, reviewing the markers, of other war veterans. About 50, yards away, from my Dad's grave, I came across the marker of Eugene Daly Jr., which was between, what I assume is his father, a WWII, veteran and his brother, also a Vietnam veteran. I have read many books, on the Vietnam War and have always been in awe, of those, that served in that conflict. (long, before it became the popular thing, to do) While this has long been considered, a controversial war, given the conduct of politicians, I have felt for families, that may have thought, that there loved ones died, in vain. Even though, political and military objectives were never achieved, I don't think these heros died, without purpose. I wonder what it does, to the survivor's family, when he/she hears, "no more Vietnams." In one respect, one might take that as a painful reminder, that there loved one died, without the full support, of the American people and/or political power base. I would hope they might replace, that feeling with the understanding, that without Vietnam, similar mistakes might have been made in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Desert Storm and Kosovo. The fact, that the mistakes of Vietnam are always, in the forefront of decision makers minds, leads me to believe that the memory of those, that have died in Vietnam has actually saved hundreds, of thousands, of lives, perhaps more. To the families of these heros, this doesn't make the loss any less painful, but hopefully you can recognize the great contribution, these men made in history, given their sacrifices. If any family member ever reads this, I hope this note does not upset you. I write this in a spirit, of honoring your loved one, even though, I never met him. Just know, that I visited, his grave and that I was thinking, of him. Kindest regards, Steve.
