Randolph Chris Roshto "Randy"
The owner of Cake Palace Bakery and a resident and native of Port Allen, he passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Friday evening, Aug. 28, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 57. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Keith McAllister. Graveside service at Grace Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Craig Nelms. Survived by his wife, Millie Moore Roshto; a daughter, Toni Simpson and husband Matt; a stepdaughter, Nicole Vallet and husband Russell; three sisters, Faye Covington and husband Buck, Florie Robertson and husband Buster, and Frieda Roshto McFarlane; and five grandchildren, Megan Crawford, Hope Crawford, Madison Simpson, Morgan Simpson and Madisyn Vallet. Preceded in death by his parents, Elex "Happy" and Lizzia Belle "Beth" Roshto; sisters, Judith Roshto and Fern Connor; and a brother, Ray Roshto. Pallbearers will be Lyron Dupuy, Jessie Aguillard, Junior David, Randy Perritt Jr., Paul Catalanatto and Johnny Moore. As a former employee, I was shocked to see that Gambino's had taken over Cake Palace. Only tonight did I find online the reason for the change. May you rest in peace, Randy. Happy Angel Day just a little early.|
