Mr. Patrick was originally buried in the Cleveland County Home cemetery located at the fairgrounds. On April 26th, 1994, his resting place was moved to its current location.
We at Broad River Genealogical Society are striving to identify this gentleman and the other souls who share his grave.
One of Mr. Patrick's granddaughters very kindly shared his death certificate with me and it does indeed prove he was one of those disinterred from the County Home Cemetery and moved to this spot.
Mr. Patrick was a widower having survived his wife Octavia Jones Patrick and died of stomach cancer. Many folks who lived at our county home were there because of ill health and no one at home to care for them.
