She came to Ingham County, Mich., when 6 years old. Her father and grandfather hewed logs and built a cabin in the wilderness.
At the age of 17, she was married to Sydney A. Hall, who died Nov. 17, 1903. They had two girls: Estella Arvilla Hall, June 11, 1873 – Sept. 5, 1952;
May Belle Hall, Aug. 17, 1876 – Jan. 19, 1963.
Her second husband was Daniel Peter Ashley, who she married December 22, 1906, and who died August 13, 1935.
