Barbara, the epitome of a beautiful Southern lady, was born in Cleburne on Dec. 1, 1924, to the late Marian Sims Bradbury and William Thomas Bradbury Jr.
At the age of 16, Barbara met a young Army Air Corps cadet, John Stinson Howell III, and they married Feb. 26, 1944. They embarked on a life of adventure and excitement. They loved skiing, traveling and hunting with their children and friends throughout their 58-year marriage. In 1951 they formed B&H Instruments, which later became Howell Instruments Inc. The company was always an integral part of Barbara's life. Barbara was an active and enthusiastic supporter of the Republican Party of Texas for many decades. She was an adored mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved being surrounded by her family. She had fabulous style in every aspect of her life and was a most gracious and kind hostess and friend.
Barbara was a member of River Crest Country Club, Shady Oaks Country Club, The Petroleum Club, The Assembly and Jewel Charity.
The family would like to recognize the special care and treatment provided to Barbara during her illness by Dr. Albert McDowell, Dr. Mary Snellings, Michele Orshal, Debra Fleming, Agape Caregivers, Ellie, LaToya, Monique and Julie, and a special thanks needs to go to Dona Miller, Christina Miranda and Rosa Cervantes for their loving care.
