Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, July 16, 2002:

W. Harold Willard, 77, of Harrisburg died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at New Franklin Christian Church with the Rev. Roger McMurry officiating. Burial will be in Pettigrew Cemetery near Lupus. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 W. Business Loop 70.

Rev. Willard was born Aug. 27, 1924, near Bingen, Ark., to Claude Robinson Willard and Willie Fay Martin Willard.

He married Julia "Judy" Leora Hickam of Wooldridge on July 16, 1946, in Blevins, Ark., and she survives.

He graduated from Blevins High School in Blevins in 1942. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He graduated from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, in 1957 with a bachelor's degree and from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas, in 1960 with a master's of divinity degree.

Rev. Willard served as a pastor in several churches in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. He most recently served as pastor at the Boonesboro, New Franklin and Ashland Christian churches. He had also served as pastor of the Dripping Springs and Huntsville Christian churches.

Survivors also include two daughters, Becky Dulany of Moberly and Belinda Smith of Lancaster, Pa.; a son, Ken Willard of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Davis of Dallas, Texas, and Evelyn Whidby of Redmond, Wash.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Glenn Willard.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
