Obituary of Bill Hoofer Western Star, Coldwater, KS, July 12, 2007

William "Bill" Marion Hoofer, 79, died Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born Jan 12, 1928, on a farm nine miles northwest of Coldwater, he was the son of Asa Francis and Merle Zoe (Weiniert) Hoofer.
A lifetime resident of Coldwater, he attended Coldwater Grade School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1946. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952.
He was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church, where he served as church treasurer and Sunday school teacher, and sang in the church choir. His other memberships included V F W, American Legion, and Coldwater Country Club. He was co-owner of Hoofer's Grocery in Coldwater, for 40 years.
Survivors include one brother, Ralph Hoofer and his wife Lorena of Coldwater, one sister, Bonita Swafford and her husband Robert of Twin Falls, Idaho; two nephews: Michael Swafford and his wife Carolyn of Maple Valley, Wash, and Scott Swafford and his wife Jenny of Twin Falls, one niece, Sheri Davis of Oak Harbor, Wash, one step-nephew, David Friend of Oklahoma City, OK and two step-nieces; Dixie Gay and her husband Ron of Houston, Tex, and Rita Case and her husband Larry of Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service is at 2 pm Friday, July 13, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, with Rev. Sue Talbot presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, with military honors.
