Zannie Lee Murphy, Jr. age, 66, of Selma, AL, passed away October 11, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents Zannie Lee Murphy, Sr. and Helen Rivers Beverly.
He is survived by his brother, Charles E. (Merinda) Dennis; sisters, Lennie Murphy Malion, Emmie Jo (Donald) Posey, Carol Rowe and Brenda Ammons and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Crosspoint Christian Church at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Alan Yarbrough and Rev. Ken Scott officiating. Interment was in the New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 5-7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers were Butch Washburn, Donnie Boozer, Jerry Hatfield, Eugene Howell, Bill Manderson and Chip Martin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations to be made to Columbia University ALS Gift Fund, Columbia University Medical Center, Development Office, 100 Haven Ave., Suite 29-D, New York, NY 10032.
