Redifer,CWO Earl B.
A retiree of the U.S.A.F., died Sunday,September 1, 1982, at Amarillo Veterans Hospital, in Amarillo,Texas. Age 79 years. He was born June 12, 1903, in McCook, Nebraska. He married Bina Roberson of Romeo, Michigan in 1930. They had celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on September 6th.
He retired from the Air Force after 28 years of service as a Chief Warrent Officer in 1949. He was stationed at many Air Force bases overseas and the United States, he served with the 58th Fighter Wing in the Southwest Pacific Area during World War II.Earl was decorated with Distinguished Unit Citation, American Defense Ribbon, Phillippine Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with seven Bronze Stars, the World War II VictoryMedal and Occupational Medal in Japan.
After his retirement he lived on a farm in Kingston serving on the Kingston Board of Education and later moving to Snover. In 1979 he moved to Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the Westmorland Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Marie Jacot, Snover, Michigan: Mrs. Kay Wilcox, Lubbock, Texas,; one son, Richard Redifer, Freeland, Michigan,; three brothers,; Raymond Redifer, Myersville, Maryland, Rhea Redifer,Orofino, Idaho, Burleigh Redifer,Port Charlotte, Florida, two sisters, Bonnie Mckenzie, Mishawaka, Indiana, Ethel Day, Logansport, Indiana,; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A full Military funeral was carried out by the Reese Air Force Honor Guard on Tuesday, sept, 21st, 1982. Services were conducted by the U. S. A. F. Chaplin, Captain Hines and Rev. Craig Wilcox.
Burial was in Veterans Park, Peaceful Gardens, in Woodrow, Texas
