WORLD WAR II VETERAN
Charles (Chuck) Frederick Tonningsen went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 at his home in Retsil, Washington.
Born in Weed, CA., on August 2, 1923, to Mary Jane and Otto Tonningsen, he is survived by 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
A graduate of the West Point Military Academy as well the University of Washington, Chuck served in the Army until discharged as a Captain at which time he went to work for the Boeing Company.
In his later years, Chuck devoted his life to mission work outside the U.S. with YWAM Ministries. Serving the Lord by doing his work brought him tremendous joy and he considered it his life's purpose.
Chuck was a simple man and wanted his passing to be the same, choosing to not have a service in his honor.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Washington State Veterans Home for the loving care they showed him. Please sign online guestbook www.tuellmckee.com. Arrangements by Tuell-McKee Funeral Home, 253-272-1414.
