Although his parents are unknown at this time, it is known they were the immigrants who came to America, possibly from Germany. Michael was born in Virginia and migrated to Hamilton Co OH, where he married Mary T Butts on Valentine's Day, 14 Feb 1811.

Michael served as a Private during the War of 1812, under Capt James Andrews' Company in the Ohio Militia.

Sometime before 1837, Michael moved his family to Salt Creek Twp in Hamburg, Franklin Co IN.

Using census records for the years 1820 thru 1840, it was determined Michael and Mary had at least nine children, three sons and six daughters. The names of five are known to date.

Children with Mary:

1) Lydia Ann Brown (1824-aft 1910), m: Christoph Frondorf.

2) Etta Brown (b. c1826); m. Mr Philips.

3) Evaline "Eva" Brown (1828-1901), m: Henry R Biggs.

4) George W Brown (b: 1837), m: Mary R Clayton.

5) Henry Brown (b. 1843); m. Phebe ____.

In 1870, both Michael, aged 93, and his wife Mary, aged 78, live with married daughter Eva. By 1880, they are gone from census records. Most likely they are buried in Stipps Hill with daughter Eva, but have not yet confirmed this.

Michael is my 4th maternal Gr-Grandfather. Rest in Peace dear Grandpa. You lived a very long and full life and it would have been so wonderful to have known you. God Bless.

SPECIAL THANKS TO SHANNON:

I am so grateful to have this information on the Brown family. With Shannon's help, my new-found relative, the dream to find Lydia has come true. My Mother would have been very excited to have known about the family of her Gr-Gr-Grandma Liddy.
