George Allen Hawn served as a Private 1st Class in the Infantry of the United States Army during World War II.

He was a son of George Ellis Hawn and Emeline Summerville Hawn.

He was killed in the Allied invasion of Normandy, France on D-Day, June 6, 1944.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 7, 1941 at Camp Lee, Virginia.

He was originally from Cresson, Pennsylvania.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on April 21, 1948.
