Thaddeus M. Cygan , 72, of 895 Front St., a 25-year supervisor for the Chicopee highway department, died Saturday in Holyoke Hospital.
He retired this year.
Born in Ludlow, he lived in Chicopee for the past 47 years.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church.
He was a member of the Tiger Athletic Club and the Oxford Country Club.

He leaves his wife, the former Caroline Siok; a son, Thomas M. of Springfield; a daughter, Theresa M. Cygan of Springfield; two brothers, Mitchell of Ludlow and Stephen of the state of Florida; and two sisters, Jennie Podsadowski of Springfield and Evelyn Mondry of Ludlow.

The funeral will be Monday morning at Kozikowsky Funeral Home and in the church, with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
