Bolen died at his residence at 2 a.m. Thursday.
He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 6003.
His wife Christine Meador Bolen preceded him in death. He was the son of the late Jack Bolen and Fannie Farley of Besoco. Other survivors include one son Eugene of Princewick; one daughter; Dorothy Marie of Princewick; three other brothers Eugene of Fireco, Sammy of Whitby, and Bruce of Besoco, three sisters; Mrs Edna McKinney of Coal City, Mrs Dolly Butler of Princewick, and Mrs Alice Lilly of Coal City.
The body will be taken from the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home to the residence of a brother Hodge Bolen at 4 p.m. Friday.
