John C. Brown, 87, of Midland, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1925, in New Castle, Pa., son of the late John and Mildred (Chipman) Brown. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Adrian College and proudly served his country with the U.S. Marines during World War II, from 1943-1946, in the Pacific Theater. He married the former Marian Pratt on Aug. 13, 1949. She preceded him in death May 18, 2000. He then married the former Mary Lou Eargood-Beecham in Midland 2002. She survives him.

John retired from the Prudential Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Wheeler Road Church of Christ and was an avid reader of western novels, enjoyed Civil War History, animals, and college football.

Surviving besides his wife, Mary Lou, are his two sons, Timothy Brown and his wife Pat of Lumberton, N.C., John C. "Jack" Brown of Chesapeake, Va.; and his daughter, Deborah Williams of Adrian; one granddaughter, Amy Williams of Adrian; and a nephew he raised, James Brown of New Castle, Pa.
