Berl Warner Blair was born in a sod house seven miles east of Broken Bow, the son and seventh child of Byron Warner Blair and Tabitha Ellen Brinson. He married Louise Marian Ledwich on June 14, 1912, possibly in Kansas City, Missouri, where they had eloped. Berl died in Colorado Springs where at the time of his death he owned the Ranch Autel Motel. His obituary is in the August 9, 1956, issue of the Custer County Chief.
Berl and Louise had four children: Ralph Ledwich, James Berl (both of whom became doctors), Louise Marian, and Berl Warner Jr. (Sammie).
