James Glenn Trest, 43, lifelong resident of Sandersville, died Saturday morning in a local hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 Sunday from Memory Chapel. The Revs. Benson Napier, Woodrow Bagby and J.D. Tisdale, all of Sandersville, will conduct the service.

Interment will be in Rushton Cemetery with pallbearers Miller Myrick, W.C. Gardner, Curtis Robinson, Hilbert Hickson, Pete Perito and E.R. Aaron, serving.

Mr. Trest was a member of the Sandersville Baptist Church, the VFW, and was a veteran of World War II. He was shot down in his B-17 on a bombing mission to destroy the ball bearing plants of Western Germany. He spent several years as a POW in Stalag 17.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Mae Trest, Sandersville; five sisters, Mrs. Lura Blackwell, New Orleans, Mrs. J.L. Lawrence, Ellisville, Mrs. C.B. White, Greenville, Mrs. J.V. Sanders, Sandersville, and Mrs. J.B. Melton, Laurel.
