Horace C. Barton (1843-12/24/1863) was born the son of James Smith Barton (1823-5/23/1892) and Maria/Moriah Beardsley Barton (1821 NY-). He was grandson to Daniel Barton (11/27/1789-6/2/1861)
He died in the service during the Civil War:
Cattaraugus County Soldiers from 146th NY Volunteers a Civil War Regiment Organized in Onieda County, NY August 1862: Barton, Horace age 20, enlisted at Carrolton, August 22, 1863, as Private, Co. E, died of disease 12/25/1863 at Bealton station, Va, only 4 months, 3 days, later.
His 12 siblings were: Charles Barton (1843 PA-), Lucinda Barton (11/1/1844/45 PA-), James Barton (1845-), Angeline L. Barton (2/11/1846-), James L. Barton (8/21/1847 PA-1/1923), Laffette Barton (1848-), William S. Barton (2/28/1849-), Satira/Salina A. Barton (3/1851 PA-), Rebecca Anetta Barton (7/25/1852 PA-), Alice M. Barton (10/10/1854-), Alida (Liddie) Mary Barton (9/27/1855/57-), and Lafe (6/3/1860-). Census 1850, 1860, & 1870 and famly tree in Archives.
He was twenty years old and so far I haven't found a wife or children for him.
