Mrs. Fred Apps, Coloma, passed away October 26, 1955 at the age of 61 years. The former Carrie Martha Shippee was born at Plainfield September 7, 1894 to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Shippee. When a small girl of eight she came with her mother to live at the home of George Kersenlohr near Coloma.
On November 12, 1919 she was married to Fred Apps. Five years of their lives were spent on a farm near Wautoma. In 1924, they moved to Milwaukee and made their home there for 23 years. later coming back to the farm near Coloma where they were now residing.
For the past four years Mrs. Apps has been failing and for several months she has been a patient at the Winnebago where she passed away. Mrs. Apps was a member of the Coloma Methodist church and a member of the WSCS.
There are three children, Mrs. Carlyle (Millie) Sheppard, Bernard and Berton Apps all of Milwaukee. She leaves besides her husband and children, four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Joe Kujawa of Stevens Point; two step-sisters, Mrs. Ed Apps of Wild Rose and Mrs. Floyd Parsons of Stevens Point.
Those preceding her in death besides her parents were one brother, Bertie Shippee, a step-father, George Kersenlohr, a half-brother, Louis Kersenlohr and a step-brother, Willie Kersenlohr.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon (Oct. 29, 1955) from the Coloma Methodist church. Burial was in the Plainfield cemetery.
