Info from the family Bible held by the Winters family of Summerville SC,grand daughter Mattie Owens Charles, g grandson Tommy Charles and GG grandson Roy Owens.

Son of William? and Lydia Owens born on Edisto Island SC moved to Berkeley County after Edisto Island was invaded by the Northern troops during the Confederate war, (The War of Northern Aggression). Moved to Bannister Downs Plantation the home of the McCants....which was later covered by Lake Moultrie.

First Wife Mary Shuler Crawford 1825-1943 Buried in the Old First Baptist Church Cemetery on Edisto Island with 3 infant children: Loucazer, Mary, and Susan.
