Fred Burnett was born about 8 miles west of at Licking, MO. The farm where he grew up was called the Burnett Spring farm. There was a spring on the farm that was called Burnett Spring. There was a Burnett cemetery on the farm.

Fred was the son of John Henry Burnett and Louisa Catherine (Hobson) Burnett of Licking, MO. He was not married. He went to California about 1917. While living in California he registered for World War I. He worked in the oil field until his death. He lived in Long Beach, CA for 28 years.

Obituary for Fred Burnett

Funeral services for Fred Burnett were held April 19 at 2 p.m. in the Dilday Chapel at Long Beach, California. Rev. William H. Galbraith conducted the services.
Fred Burnett was born in Licking, Mo. January 31, 1900 and passed away April 17, 1950 in Long Beach, California. He was the youngest son of John and Louisa Burnett. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers. Surviving are two brothers and four sisters, Charles Burnett of Ventura, California, Craven Burnett of Licking, Missouri, Barbara Stone, and Emma Murray of Taft, California; Nora Williams of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and Lulu Tory of Santa Paula, California. He went to California in 1917 and had lived at Long Beach for the past 28 years.
