(special thanks to Linda Davis for the following info) As a member of the Jacksonville Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Meryle Holcomb Kerns was appointed in 1968 as NSDAR Chairman of the newly created Service for Veterans Committee, and served as the first DAR representative to National Board of Veterans Association of Volunteer Services. She remained on that board for seven years before becoming the Regent of the Jacksonville Chapter. She has been a member of the State Teller Committee and was FSSDAR Corresponding Secretary.
