Ms. Willie Pearl Davis, age 94, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, following a brief illness. She was a native of Coffee County GA., and was born on June 12, 1905, to the late William Ashley Hoke and Leona Pearl Trice Davis.
Ms. Davis was a retired English teacher with the Coffee County School System; at present, she was an adult Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Sun Pointe Retirement Home and Shady Acres Convalescent Center. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Coffee regional Medical Center and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Singing Seniors, the Joy Group, and a leader in the Baptist Adult Training Union.
Survivors include: one niece, Wautrelle Davis Sutton of Orlando, Fla.; and a close friend, Earl Thomas
Funeral services were held at 4pm Thursday, May 4, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Douglas, GA., with the interment in the Douglas City Cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
William A. Davis was born Bladen County, NC 6-23-1867, and died in Coffee County Ga 6-21-1921.
Leona Pearl Trice was born in Upton County, Ga. 10-31-1869, and died in Coffee County Ga 10-10-1958.
