She graduated from Davenport's Smart Jr. High (then West Intermediate), then from Elliott Fisher Bookkeeping/Machine School in Rock Island, Rock Island, IL. She was employed in the Davenport Locomotive Works office, lunch lady at Davenport Central High School, and bookkeeper/cashier at Bawden Bros. Inc at 121 E. 3rd St. in Davenport where her husband, Albert Ralph was president and originator of the business with his 2 brothers, Ray and Harry.
Her mother-in-law, Jennie Eldridge Bawden lived with "Tess" until Jennie's death in 1959. (bur Davenport's Oakdale Memorial Gardens, 2501 Eastern Ave).
"Tess" died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, not far from her son's family. She is buried by herself.
She and Albert "AR" were married 24 May 1945 in Los Angeles, LA county, CA. They had one son: Ralph Eldridge b. 13 Aug 1946 in Davenport.
Tess was one of the lunch ladies at Davenport Central High School. She had been a Cub Scout leader. She loved to knit, play golf and swim. She was survived by a brother, Fr. Paul Hart, Davenport, and sister Rosemary Hart. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport.
