Sarah (Brinig) Schwartz was born July 25, 1880 to Moses and Rebecca Brinig. She married Jack Schwartz and lived in Anaconda and then moved to Denver. They were the parents of two boys (Joseph and ?).

Sarah was the older sister of celebrated 20th century novelist Myron Brinig whose books portrayed growing up Jewish in the raucous mining town of Butte. Many of his main characters were inspired by his family and neighbors. His best known works were "Singermann" (1929), "Wide Open Town" (1931), "This Man is My Brother" (1932) and "The Sun Sets in the West" (1935).

Sarah died on Oct. 11, 1961.
