Richard H. Jackson was born April 10,1841 and died Oct. 22, 1912, aged 71 years, 5 months, and 12 days. Brother Jackson joined the Union Army in 1862. He came back in 1863 and married Miss Politte. He returned to the war and served in Reg. 31, Co. B. until discharged in 1865. His wife died, leaving two children, Wm. A. Jackson of Bonne Terre and Mrs. Sarah Charboneau of Webb City. On May 7, 1885 he married Miss Susan Hulsey. To this union seven children were born, three of whom died in infancy and four are living: Charley, Frank, Firman and Susan. His second wife died Oct. 28, 1895. He then married Miss Lorena Huff, Jan. 24, 1897. She, with their five children: Rosey, Liddie, Lucie, G.W., and Lula L. Jackson, survive. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Garrett of Sullivan, Mrs. Visey Wise of Northcutt, and a half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wise of Northcutt. Brother Jackson joined the Missionary Baptist Church about 22 years ago and served as deacon a number of years. He became a member of the Indian Creek Church by letter from the New Hope Church and lived a faithful member in Christ. His death was caused by bladder and kidney trouble from which he suffered for more than two years. The burial took place in the Hulsey Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Elvoid.
