Jack J Dexter, 64, died at his home in Fort Collins Saturday, Jan. 5, 1991.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Kunter will officiate. Graveside military honors will be presented by the Disabled Veterans Association, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Reager Funeral Home.

Mr. Dexter was born Jan 20, 1926 at Fort Collins. He was raised in LaPorte and graduated in 1944 from LaPorte High School. In 1956 he graduated from Colorado State University where he was involved in the dairy program as a dairy herdsman and research associate.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and then worked in the animal health industry for 20 years. He taught at Western Dakota Vocational Technical Institute at Sturgis, S.D. and taught livestock production at CSU for seven years where he coached the livestock judging team.

He lived in California for a while, returning in 1982. He retired in 1987.

He was a member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church.

On July 18, 1947, he married Virginia Brezina at Fort Collins. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Dean P, Dexter of Minneapolis, Jerry J. Dexter of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dale R. Dexter of Fort Collins; a sister June Krakel of Red Feather Lakes; and his mother, Grace Ann Dexter of Fort Collins.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Larimer County or to the Harmony Presbyterian Church in care of Reager Funeral Home.
