COLLINS, WILLIAM JOHN, JR.
A retired District Representative of Berkheimer Associates, died of complications related to ALS on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at Pennsylvania Hospital in Phila. Pa. He was 60. Mr. Collins, a resident of King of Prussia, PA since 1973, worked as a manager of M.S.A.D.P. Inc, a small municipal and school district tax collection agency until its purchase by the Berkheimer organization in 1995. He was a member of the first graduating class of Delaware Twp High School (now Cherry Hill West) in 1960. He attended Pierce Junior College in Phila., graduating in 1965 with an Assoc. degree in business automation management.
An avid sports fan, he was a coach and Recording Secretary of the Upper Merion Baseball Assoc. and followed closely the fortunes of the Phillies, Eagles and 76ers. Mr. Collins also enjoyed listening to music and has over 400 CD's in his collection, as well as watching movie videos of which he had over a thousand titles.
Born in Camden, NJ on June 10, 1942, he was a son of the late William J. Sr. and the late Florence M. (Miitsch) Collins. He was the widower of the late Laraine T. (Thomas) Collins.
Surviving are two sons, Theodore J. Collins of Malvern, Pa, William J. Collins III of Towamencin, Pa., one daughter, Tracy L. Johns of Reading, Pa., five grandchildren, one sister, Marilyn Logsdon of Buena Park, Ca, and many nephews and nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service at THE BACCHI-COURTNEY FUNERAL HOME, Ltd, 805 DeKalb St. (Rt 202) Bridgeport, Pa on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at 10:00am. Interment in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, Upper Merion Twp., Pa. Viewings are Monday evening 7 to 8:30pm, also Tuesday morning 9 to 9:50am, both at the funeral home. It is requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ALS Assoc. Greater Phila. Chapter, 500 Office Center Dr, Suite 340, Fort Washington, Pa. 19034-3214.
