Ron was this biographer's 3rd cousin once removed. We met online in Oct 2000 when he posted on the Smart message board. From then on he, our cousin Debbi and I started traveling down the road to search this branch of our family. Not easy to do with this particular branch but as Ron lived near NARA & to the resources in Boston he was able to do our "hunting" for us. Oh how the e-mails flew back & forth when a new piece of evidence was found or a new theory would arise. He had a wonderful sense of humor and dry wit which came through in his e-mails. I still laugh today when I read them. One thing that Ron didn't know as it was discovered after his death was that his mother had a sister. I can imagine in my mind just what those e-mails would have been like!!
He was taken from us and his family too soon. We had a lot more work to do but one day we'll meet again & find the answers together.
Photo shows the only time we met in person. Taken at Wallis Sands, NH. L-R: This biographer, Ron, his wife and our Cousin Carolyn, whom I hadn't seen in over 50 years.
