Catherine (Spurrier) Corbin was born July 3, 1849 in Illinois to Francis Marion and Rebecca (Argo) Spurrier. Her sister and brothers were : Joseph, Henry, Frances and John Spurrier.
Catherine married John Anderson Corbin on December 28, 1871 in Boone Iowa, where their first child William was born.
From there, the family moved to Sumner County Kansas, where the other children were born, James M., Hattie, Clyde, Carl, Orrin, and Bert Corbin. Having a husband who farmed, and raising seven children, Catherine had a very involved life.
By 1900, the family moved to Oklahoma Territory, and sometime after John's death in 1902, Catherine is found living in Round Grove Oklahoma, (1910 Census) with her sons, William and Bert. On the 1920 Census, she is living alone in Pond Creek, Grant, Oklahoma, then in 1930 listed as the head of house, she is living in Tonkawa, Kay Co., Oklahoma, with her son Clyde Corbin. Here Catherine died on January 17, 1938, at the age of 88 years.
