Mary Adele Amiot, 78, a lifelong Crookston resident, died of cancer later Tuesday evening, June 2, 1998 at Riverview Hospital.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with burial taking place in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation i scheduled for this evening, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the church, and also for one hour before the service.
Arrangements are with the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home.
Mary was born on May 3, 1920 in Crookston, the daughter of Lawrence and Jane (Ferguson) Regan. She was baptized and confirmed at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and attended grade school in Crookston. Mary graduated from Mount St. Benedict High School.
She married Thomas Amiot in Crookston on June 5, 1946. Tom passed away on Sept. 16, 1984. Mary took great pleasure in cooking and entertaining her family and many friends. She was an active member of the Cathedral, the Ladies of St. Anne's Sodality, Lady Foresters, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Anthony's Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Golden Link Senior Center, where she had received the Experienced American Award.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas, Warroad, and Lawrence, Crookston; three daughters, Jane Murphy, Warren, JoAnn Bakken, Fargo, and Mary Ramey, Maple Grove, MN; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gale Regan.
