Michael Paul Painter, 20, of Stephens City, Virginia, lost his long courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at UVA Medical Center where he was surrounded by loving family and friends when he went home to be with his Lord.
Michael was born May 31, 1989 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Paul L. & Robin L. Painter.
Michael lived his life to the fullest in spite of his illness. He inspired everyone who knew him with his determination to enjoy his time with family and friends. He was very proud of graduating in 2007 from Millbrook High School with the support and help of so many dedicated people.
Surviving with his parents, is his sister, Melissa Renee Painter and her companion Chris Sims, and their son, Ty Brandon Sims all of Stephens City, VA; and maternal grandparents, Willard and Ann Slonaker of Winchester, VA.
His paternal grandparents, Perry C. and Gayle C. Painter preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Fellowship Bible Church, 3217 Middle Road, Winchester, VA with Rev. Mark Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.
Pallbearers will be Justin Howell, Anthony Oconnor, Ryan Gulick, Gabriel Campbell, Phillip Painter, and Chris Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Settle, Dylan Zydelis, Jeff Wallace, Frank Crosen, Doug Madagan, Denny Smallwood, Steve Martin, and Berry Daugherty.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P. M. Wednesday evening at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Paul Painter Memorial Scholarship Fund, 914 Double Church Road, Stephens City, VA 22655.
Arrangements are being handled by the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.
