Fort Myers, Fla - The Rev. K. Eugene Abernathy, 69, of Fort Myers died Wednesday at a Huntsville, Ala. hospital. The funeral was to be today at 3:30pm at Madison Chapel funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Shook and Noel Hayes officiating.

Burial was to be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

Rev. Abernathy was a retired Baptist minister.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Tribble Abernathy; two daughters, Sandra Walker of Vero Beach, Fla., and
Jeannie Rix of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Grady Abernathy of Toney, Ala. and James Abernathy of
Capshaw, Ala.; three sisters, Mildred Sanders of Huntsville, Mattie Tribble of Madison, Ala., and Louise
Hargrove of Somerville, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
