An Officer in the Revolution,
Captain Vose was in many important battles of the war. He was superintendent of the fort on Georges river, and for three years surveyor of the port of Thomaston, ME.
Came to Thomaston to look after General Knox's property, whose artillery regiment he was a Captain in the Revolution. He built the mansion occupied by General Knox.
Thomas was a charter member of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati and was succeeded by his grandson, Thomas Spear Vose.
Died 28 Dec 1810
