Son of Max Mitchell Fife (1894-1976) and Lola Williams (1895-??).

USMA Class of 1949, Second Lieutenant Fife was living in Muskoee Co., OK when he entered the service and was a member of the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division.

He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on September 22, 1950.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
