Warrant Officer Hadden had taken part in several big raids on Bremen, Berlin, Genoa and Deusenberg. Only 19, he was part of the crew of a Stirling Heavy Bomber. Hadden was returning from his aircraft on a bicycle when he was struck by the wing of another aircraft which was taxying along the ground. The circumstances of the accident were, of course, investigated, and it was concluded that it was due to an unfortunate combination of circumstances, namely that Hadden neither heard nor saw the approaching aircraft land, and that he was in a position in which the pilot could not see him. He is buried in Wyton Parish Churchyard.
