Birth: Mar. 29, 1870
Wright County
Missouri, USA
Death: Oct. 14, 1944
Ozark County
Missouri, USA

Henry David, the son of Malichi and Martha (Hilsabeck) Bell, was married three times. His wives were: Senia Della Nash, Martha Jane (Howard) Luna, & Pearl Josephine (Hilsabeck) McGuffey.

On Friday evening, October 13, 1944, Henry collapsed at home from a stroke. Dr. Hollman was called to the house the next day, but there was nothing he could do to help. He died at 7:20 p.m., 24 hours after his stroke. On the death certificate, the immediate cause of death was recorded as cerebral hemorrhage, due to arterial hemorrhage. He had lived 74 years, 6 months, and 15 days.

His funeral was held in the Bell schoolhouse by Rev. Willie Hillhouse, at 2:30 p.m. on October 17. He was buried in Eaton Cemetery, near Trail, although his death record and obituary indicate that he was buried in Bell Cemetery.

His obituary was published in the Ozark County Times on November 2, 1944:

"Henry Davis Bell died at his home near Gainesville on Saturday October 14, after a long illness at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 15 days.

Funeral services were held Oct. 17th at 2:30 P.M. at the Bell school house with the Rev. Willie Hillhouse of Mammmoth officiating.

Burial was made in the Bell cemetery under the direction of the McClure Funeral Home of Gainesville, MO."

Henry's biography has been compiled in my book, "The Family of James and Caroline Bell."
