Servies were Wednesday at Friendship East Baptist Church. Burial was at the church cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston had charge.

Surviors include his wife Ruby J. Gooch of Charleston and one sister, Lura Knox of Alamo, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
