EVANSVILLE - Darren Michael Mellor, age 25, was recovered from Lake Mendota in Madison on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, following an accidental drowning on July 31, 2005. He was born April 5, 1980, in Madison, the son of Mike and Sandy (Wollin) Mellor, and he attended school in Mount Horeb. Darren worked as a welder at Stoughton Trailers Inc., and enjoyed football, hunting, fishing, boating, playing hockey with his dad and riding motorcycles with his family. Darren will be deeply missed by his parents, Mike and Sandy Mellor of Evansville; two sisters, Julie (Robert) Kellesvig of Ridgeway, and Barbara (Tyson) Hinsdill of Wausau; grandmother, Joyce Mellor of Mauston; niece, Falicia Kellesvig; and many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Edwin Mellor, and Helen and Bernard McKnight. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at 2 p.m. at NEW GLARUS BAPTIST BIBLE CHURCH, 207 Sixth St., New Glarus, with Pastor Glenn Andes of Gratiot presiding. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville. Family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Ward Funeral Home, Evansville, is assisting with arrangements.
