Frank G. Salladay, 65, of Wapello, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City from surgery complications.

Born Sept. 22, 1942, in Wapello, he was the son of Carl E. Salladay and Frances M. Lynch. On Dec. 27, 1969, he married Paulette L. Bailey.

Mr. Salladay was a hunter safety instructor who earned several marksmen awards and achievements. He was a 1962 graduate of Wapello High School. He worked various jobs until enlisting in the Army, and serving in Vietnam in 1967-68.

He enjoyed teaching children the fundamentals of hunting and conservation and liked to hunt and fish. He was a passionate outdoorsman and conservationist.

Survivors include his wife [text missing] of Washington; one daughter, Tracy Ousey of Washington; three grandsons; and one brother, Clarence Salladay of Wapello.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and two sisters, one in infancy.

The celebration of life for Mr. Salladay will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Briggs Center in Wapello.

All family and friends are invited and encouraged to bring a story and possibly a picture or two to share and perhaps a dish to pass. Meat and table service will be provided.
