Reuben returned to Iowa with his wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Amanda. Daughter, Mary Jerusha, was born on November 10, 1862 in Iowa.
After Reuben's death in November 1865, Elizabeth and their daughters returned to Jasper County, Missouri to live with her father, Thomas B. Landers. Daughter, Elmira was born July 28, 1866 in Jasper County, Missouri. Elizabeth died in 1870 and the girls lived with their grandfather and Elizabeth's sister, Sarah, as shown on the 1870 census.
