Born on April 1, 1922 in San Pedro, CA, Dorothy was the daughter of immigrants from Croatia to the United States in the 1920's.
Dorothy graduated from San Pedro High School, worked for the Fish and Game Commission, and was a loving homemaker and mother who will be greatly missed.
She enjoyed a healthy and happy 90th Birthday Celebration with friends and family on April 1.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Eric S. Amundson, a Coast Guard veteran of WW II who served in the Pacific on the destroyer U.S.S. Glendale, her parents, John Zorotovich and Winifred Bozanich Zorotovich, her brother, Anthony, and two sisters, Mary and Victoria. She leaves behind her daughter, Yvonne Amundson, her son and daughter-in-law, Eric John and Sherri Boyd Amundson, and her grandson, Andrew John ("Andy") Amundson.
She is also survived by her 92 year old sister-in-law, Lois Harris, and her family (San Pedro, CA), and her dear cousin, Victoria Mardesich (San Pedro, CA).
Dorothy was buried among the birds and trees at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville, FL, on August 17, 2012.
All masses this weekend at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro, CA will celebrate her life and spirit.
