Bruce Franklin Baird Sr., 67, of Caruthersville, Missouri, departed this life on January 16, 2015 at NHC in Kennett, Missouri. He was born August 18, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Claude Franklin (Jitters) and Luella (Bruce) Baird.
He attended Caruthersville High School in Caruthersville. After graduation, he became a mechanic and resided in Caruthersville most of his life.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, taking a drive in his truck and working on things.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Baird of Caruthersville, his daughter, Mary and husband Keith of Paragould, Arkansas his son, Bruce and wife Lorrie Baird of Caruthersville, stepchildren, Nathan Rudd of Southaven, Mississippi and Richard Rudd of Kennett, four grandchildren, Luke and Logan Hickox, Bruce and Ella Baird, step grandchildren, Jessica and Dustin Rudd who previously lived in the home and Maddie, Keithen, Koltten and Kalib Rudd.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jitters Baird and mother, Luella Baird.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. Don Tims and Bro. Dennis Lemonds officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville. Pallbearers were Billy and Bobby Powell, Jerry and Terry Privett, Gary Burnes and Bufford Barnett. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy, Tony and Joe Bruce.
