Inez Cora Hargett, daughter of George E Horton and Tula Francis Horton, was born on August 22, 1919 in Glidden, Iowa and passed away on December 8, 2008 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 16 days.

Inez was raised in Glidden with her two brothers and graduated from Glidden High school. She married Harry Hargett on January 10, 1943 in Lompoc, Ca. They were the parents of four children, Deborah, Cynthia, Terry and John.

Inez lived in California while Harry served in the military overseas and they they moved to Kansas after his discharge. In 1949, the family moved to acreage south of Glidden, to Ralston in 1951 and then finally to Jefferson in 1975.

Inez had been a phone operator in Ralston for several years, a retail clerk, a newspaper reporter and typist and finally worked the reservation desk at the Redwood Motel. She enjoyed meetin many people through her work. Inez also enjoyed birds, gardening, cards, and her friends.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and husband Harry. She is survived by her children and their spouses, grandchildren, and one great-grand child.
